 NOTE FROM RACHEL

NewsletterWhat are your fondest childhood memories of summer? Did you explore the outdoors and collect bugs, or watch the fireflies communicate at night? Did you find shapes in clouds and see them drift by on a lazy afternoon? Did you make a go cart with your friends and have races? Did you measure the ingredients for the perfect glass of lemonade and sell it to your neighbors to make a little extra spending money? If you did, you were enjoying the wonders of math and science! That's exactly what we're doing at Girlstart during our super-cool summer camps. We will be taking math and science fun to a whole new level, exploring surgery, space, broadcast technologies, extreme weather and much more! There are still a few summer camp spaces, so don't forget to check them out and register your daughter now before they fill up!

We're also accepting applications from Junior girls in high school for the next phase of Project IT Girl. Encourage the Junior girl in your life to fill out an application (PDF) and be a part of one of the most rewarding experiences of her life. She doesn't need to be a science whiz to join a team of bright young women who use technology to become leaders, stand out, and create social change.

And this summer, we're "Going Green" by asking you, our faithful supporters, to help us raise $10,000 by the end of August for much-needed technology updates for our computer lab. Please consider donating any amount to help us achieve our goal. Click here to donate today. Or, if you work for a company interested in helping us with a financial contribution please contact Girlstart’s Development Manager Jessica Cook at jessica@girlstart.org.

Here's to a safe and happy summer!
