 NOTE FROM RACHEL

Take a Girl to College DayIn this season of giving thanks, I would just like to take a moment to say thank you to our amazing volunteers and supporters who make it possible for us to help thousands of girls each year. Your enthusiastic participation and generous contributions continue to help us make a difference in the lives of the girls we serve. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... THANK YOU!
Take A Girl To College Day was a huge success, with close to 300 middle school girls visiting the University of Texas for a full day of activities, tours, and college fun. The ENTIRE Ann Richards' School for Girls joined us for a full day of college life.

November is shaping up to be an incredible month at Girlstart! First and foremost, we're hard at work getting ready for our FIRST-EVER Science Extravaganza Community Event on December 1 at the Ann Richards' School. This fun and inspiring event will be free and open to the public! So save the date, and make sure to let your friends know that Dec. 1 is a great day to experience hands-on science activities for the whole family.

Speaking of dates, stop by Book People on November 30, December 7, 12, 14th, or 16th! Girlstart volunteers will be there to wrap purchases for tips, and all proceeds will benefit Girlstart. Hey, that's one more thing that you don't have to worry about!

And finally, we're proud to announce that our newsletter will now have an Upcoming Events Calendar-- use it to mark your calendar so you don't miss out!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Rachel

Don't miss out on the fun with math, science, and technology! Campers at iGirl Saturday camp used editing software to create their own 30 second commercial to show off to their family and friends.
“The best thing about Saturday Camp was making commercials even though I'm the shy one. I've built more confidence in myself.”
Girlstart provides a supportive and hands-on atmosphere for girls to experiment with forensic science, robots, e-cards, and more! FREE Saturday camps are held on-site at the Girlstart Tech Center in Austin. For more information and the complete camp lineup visit http://www.girlstart.org/saturday.asp
