Anyone who thinks that the “dog days of summer” is a slow time of year obviously hasn’t been around Girlstart lately! (Though maybe it’s the “raining cats and dogs days of summer” this year)

We’re wrapping up another fantastic summer’s worth of camps in a few weeks, we’re making preparations for one of our most dynamic years of Saturday camps ever, and we’re getting our amazing Project IT Girls ready for a fall semester in which they will add game creation to their rapidly-growing repertoires!

And that’s just what’s been happening in Austin – in San Antonio, we just finished working with 400 science teachers in just three months, helping them master the digital microscope. Our partnership with Our Lady of the Lake University continues in a few weeks with one of our largest summer camp sessions ever!

Even though we’re preparing to celebrate 10 years of success next month, we’ve been busy planning how we’re going to kick off the next decade, and I can’t wait to share that with you in the coming months!

Girlstart Celebrates 10 Years of Success!

Mark your calendars- Saturday Camp registration opens August 15th! Girlstart provides a supportive and empowering atmosphere in which girls learn about forensic science, robots, e-cards and more! FREE Saturday camps are held on-site at the Girlstart Tech Center in Austin, Texas. Registration opens August 15th! Girlstart Alumnae Give Back!
Girlstart has been blown away by the support from our alumnae this summer! High school girls who were former Girlstart campers have volunteered over 600 hours at Girlstart Summer Camp-WOW! From playing games with the summer campers to helping counselors prepare activity materials to filling water balloons, these incredible young women have selflessly spent their precious summer hours inspiring new Girlstart girls to follow their dreams!
