 NOTE FROM RACHEL

Spring has sprung! And we've got amazing programs growing like wild flowers at Girlstart!

First up on our calendar is Expanding Your Horizons , which takes place March 24. Registration ends March 9 for this amazing day-long program, which will be held at UT-Austin. Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade girls from across Central Texas will be able to participate in fun hands-on workshops, led by women scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, to show them about amazing careers in math, science, and technology. Our friends at Fox7, who are sponsoring the event along with Applied Materials, did a tour of our offices and made us a fun PSA you can view here. To register, sign up at eyhaustin.org.

We're also happy to announce that Girlstart Summer Camp is open for registration! It's our ninth year of week-long summer camps, blending serious fun with serious know-how. This year, summer campers will direct and star in their own news segments, solve mysteries in the Girlstart crime scene lab, embark on an adventurous animal safari, uncover science secrets and more! To see more about our summer camps, click here.

Registration is open for one of the wildest Saturday camps of the year! RoboBLAST, on April 14, is a camp for middle school girls who want to create and program their own robotic cars – and then race for fun prizes! Our complete list of free Saturday camps is available here.

Finally, I've got great news of my own! On January 26, I gave birth to twins! My husband and I couldn't be more thrilled with our adorable little boy, Luke, and our darling future IT Girl, Scarlett! We can't wait to help them grow up and learn in this amazing time we live in!
