Wind-Up Car Challenge

Club Girlstart at Trinity is full of future automotive engineers! Gasoline is an expensive non-renewable resource. Today, scientists and engineers are busy trying to find an alternative energy source that can be used in everyday situations. The cars we designed this week use potential energy to move!

Every time you wind up the car, the potential energy increases!
Potential energy can then be converted into kinetic energy- the
energy of motion!

Storing up potential energy means that there will be more kinetic
energy when the cars are released. We made good use of kinetic
energy by racing all of our cars! On your mark, get set, GO!

As always, engineers collaborate with others in their group. Go teamwork!
