Senator Cornyn Goes To Camp!

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn visited Girlstart Summer Camp today! Girlstart campers showcased what they learned about forensic science and the medical field in “Scrub-In” and “CSI Girls” Summer Camps. Sen. Cornyn saw firsthand projects the campers created, including video games, medical simulations, evidence-testing in a mock-crime lab, and more! Senator Cornyn also participated in some of the activities with the campers as they walked him through their STEM experiments.

Sen. Cornyn also met with several Girlstart supporters from Central Texas technology companies committed to investing in the next generation of STEM professionals. Representatives from Dell, AMD, National Instruments, and Time Warner Cable and Girlstart alumna Emma Holt discussed the importance of attracting more Texas students to STEM fields to boost our national security and economy, and help keep Texas and the nation competitive on the global stage.
